Juan Pablo Montalva is a lifelong artist. He was born by the Pacific Ocean in Vina del Mar, Chile. The sound of the wind and the sea sparked an early fascination with the idea of stealing the image from an ongoing story. It was during a very political Chile when Juan Pablo developed an artistic personal voice, this struggle has created his unique shooting style.

Juan Pablo is a fashion photographer and filmmaker. He creates work that blends the two equally relevant worlds of fashion and content, beauty and art. Juan Pablo draws from his own personal experiences to create a beautiful image that reflects that which is innately human. He is interested in writing a relevant story that unfolds himself before the camera.

His work has been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago, Chile. In 2008 he received the Gold Award at the London International Advertising Festival, as well as the Palma De Oro Award at the Mallorca Festival in Spain.

Juan Pablo was recently selected to participate in the 2010-2011, Levi’s campaign WORKERS, featuring new talent, shot by Melodie McDaniel.

Juan Pablo has shot for Levi’s, H&M, Falabella, Ripley, L’Oréal, ThreeASFOUR, BANANA REPUBLIC, zero+mariacornejo, Revista Paula, Revista Cosas, VW, OAKNYC, MUSE, Cerveza Corona, ACNE, Peugeot to name a few. After six year living in NYC JuanPablo has moved to Santiago de Chile again were he is currently living and working.
